If there's a request on the board that is in another language (lately, it's been Russian), and you run it through a translator, please paste the translated copy into an internal comment.

I've asked for a new category to be created on the board. It is called Feeds (though right now it may be called syndicated feeds). Please start kicking all feed-related reqs over there to get them out of g/unk. I will be getting a few additional folks the privs to edit feeds and approve answers so that hopefully those can get done faster rather than hanging around until one of the Triumvirate gets around to doing it.

Hello folks!

It's been brought to my attention that the Big Blue Box aka the Known Issues Bos is a little out-of-date. I know that the Current Issues FAQ is probably also out of date. I'd like to get them updated.

To this end: please take a minute and let me know if you're sure that a certain bullet point on the BBB or a FAQ is out-of-date or obsolete. This will help me IMMENSELY in narrowing down the list of things I need to target. You can comment on this entry and I'll handle it from there.

PS: There's a code push at about 9PM Pacific on Monday, April 22nd, 2013. Also known as 0400 UTC the 23rd. If you're around and inclined, feel free to jump on IRC (directions for that are here). I'm always hopeful that code pushes will be smooth, but this one includes a substantive change to comment notification emails, so I suspect there may be some bumps. I'd love to have you on board with us if you're able!
PPS: I haven't forgotten about the Support stuff I posted about last month! It's been hectic here in Katlandia, but I am making some headway with the information gathered.
PPPS: I tasted raspberry basil sorbet this evening. It was as amazing as it sounds.

Following on the heels of my previous entry: what tools/resources do you constantly look for? These can be things we don't have at all, or things that don't work the way you think they ought to.

I am happy with any feedback, but the most useful comments will be protospecs: what the tool should do, and how.

I've gotten some feedback that the Support process from the volunteer side is opaque and confusing. I, along with some other folks, are looking to change that. The first step in this multi-step process is to find out what the people who do Support are actually using.

Hey folks,

As I'm sure you've noticed, we're having some issues with the importer. What I'd really appreciate is if you could take a look at the open reqs, and see if you can find patterns. Maybe "user has dated out of order entry" or "has over X# of entries/comments." If you see a pattern, comment on it here with some links.

Also, there's a code push tonight, so if you see something, please report it.

Finally, expect this comm to be a little more active soon. I'm working on a project with some Support volunteers, and we'll be doing a lot of the chatter in here. Feel free to chime in!

Hello Support!

I just edited the BBB to say this:
Some users may get a "Failed to connect to http://www.livejournal.com/interface/xmlrpc" error when using services that require connections to LiveJournal, such as crossposting. This is likely due to some slowness on LiveJournal's end. The crossposter will attempt to transmit your entry several times before it fails permanently. You can edit your entry (make a small change, like adding a space to the end of a paragraph) and save the changes to force the crossposter to try again. Thank you for your patience.

If you see any requests like that on the board, go ahead and answer them in a similar way. LiveJournal has been a little up-and-down over the last few days, but hopefully it will start working consistently again soon.
